Today I'd like to share some fun photos with you. Thanks to Melissa of
Adventure Tykes for inviting me to participate in
Hostelbooker’s 7 Super Shots game.
To play along, I must choose a photo in each of the seven pre-chosen
categories, write a short description of each and then nominate five
more bloggers to do the same.
Note, that I didn't see in the rules anywhere that I had to have taken the photos myself so some of these were taken by my husband.
1. A photo that … takes my breath away
 |
Emperor Falls, Mt. Robson Provincial Park, British Columbia |
I remember how I felt so alive, surrendered fully to the moment standing in front of this amazing display of creation and power. This is the closest I've ever been to a large waterfall before and the experience was surreal.
2. A photo that … makes me laugh or smile
 |
Lake Louise, Alberta |
This photo makes me laugh every time I see it. I'm still surprised that somebody can be passed out cold, sound asleep, while standing fully upright. My son never ceases to amaze me with the places and ways he can fall asleep.
3. A photo that … makes me dream
 |
Elizabeth Parker Hut, Lake O'Hara, British Columbia |
This photo captures so many of the things I dream of; family adventures waiting to unfold, new families to meet and explore with, backcountry travel, and all the beauty that surrounds us each time we get out to our Rocky Mountains.
4. A photo that … makes me think
 |
Lake of the Hanging Glacier, British Columbia |
I call this photo, "looking for my Heaven." The name still fits and I'm filled with peace and serenity each time I look at it.
5. A photo that … makes my mouth water
 |
Heart Mountain, Kananaskis, Alberta |
So, my mouth doesn't literally water, but figuratively, I am yearning for Spring and this photo was taken on the Summer Solstice many years ago just before sunset on the summit of Heart Mountain. To have that freedom now...
6. A photo that … tells a story
 |
Machu Picchu, Peru |
This was our final vacation before my son was born. We went to Peru in my second trimester (the pregnancy wasn't entirely expected when we booked the trip)
and I said that pregnant or not - I was making it to the top of Wayna Picchu, the cool mountain dominating the picture. I did and it was an amazing experience I'll never forget! I can't wait to take Noah there
when he's older and this time we'll hike the Inca Trail.
7. A photo that … I am most proud of (aka my worthy-of-National Geographic shot)
 |
Spring in the Columbia Valley, British Columbia |
I have lots of photos I like but this picture really capture me somehow. I was practicing taking crocus photos all day with my zoom lens and was very pleased with the results I got.
OK, I must nominate five bloggers to join the fun. Here is my list of nominees and sorry but you MUST play along.

ReplyDeleteIt was very hard finding people who hadn't already done the project. :)
DeleteNice pictures! No promises we'll have ours up soon...go pregnancy!
ReplyDeleteNo worries at all! It was a fun project to do. Fortunately most of my favorite photos are all in one folder so it was easy for me to do.
